The second edition of the Greening Award Initiative is now open for applications!
Set up to celebrate the sustainability actions and activities carried out by authorities which empower a green transition, contribute to a more sustainable future, and which directly or indirectly support the goals of the European Green Deal.
The Greening Award Initiative is jointly organised by the three European Agencies tasked with supporting national authorities carrying out Coast Guard Functions – the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA), the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).
The Awards have three categories:
Greening Operations
This category focuses on the operational projects and activities undertaken by coast guard authorities that lead to a reduced environmental footprint.
Outreach and Awareness
This category highlights the public-facing projects carried out by coast guard authorities to engage citizens in environmental activities and raise awareness.
Greening at Work
This category encompasses activities carried out within different coast guard authorities to improve sustainability and environmental standards inside their organisations.
